Filistin'e Gitmek
Filistin'e Gitmek, Filistin'de yaşanan insanlık dramını bire bir görmek, şiddete ve haksızlığa maruz kalan insanların acısını paylaşmak için yapılan üç yolculuğun notlarından oluşuyor. Bir Türk gönüllüsünün, kendi imkânlarıyla ve gönüllü olarak yaptığı bu yolculuklar önce merakla başlıyor. Daha sonra işin içine sevgi ve özlem karışıyor. Üçüncü ve son yolculuksa Filistin için eyleme geçme isteğiyle yapılıyor.
Bütün bu yolculuklar esnasında tutulan notlar ve çekilen fotoğraflar Filistin'e farklı bir bakış açısıyla bakmamızı sağlıyor. Yazarın Filistin'e karşı hissettiği sıcak ve samimi duygular satırlarına yansıyor. Kitap, emperyalizm ve İsrail'in sistemli vahşetinin kıskacındaki bu talihsiz topraklar ve buradaki günlük yaşam hakkında birçok şeyi öğrenmemize ve anlamamıza yardımcı oluyor.
Filistin'e Gitmek, kulaklarımıza herkesin Filistin için yapabileceği bir şeylerin olduğunu fısıldıyor. Üstelik bunu nasıl yapabileceğimize dair önemli ipuçlarını da birlikte sunuyor.
Selma Şevkli 1981 yılında Almanya'da doğdu. Lisans eğitimini Hacettepe Üniversitesi Psikoloji Bölümü'nde, yüksek lisansını da Bilgi Üniversitesi Kültürel İncelemeler alanında tamamladı. Nisan 2007'de 'Öteki Çocuklar: Kenya-Filistin' isimli bir fotoğraf sergisi açtı. Halen Gaziantep'te Sığınmacılar ve Göçmenlerle Dayanışma Derneği'nde psikolog olarak çalışıyor. Yaptığı gezilerle ilgili yazıları çeşitli kitap ve medya organlarında yayımlandı
